Short Arc

As well as this LAGEOS and ETALON long-arc analysis, a short-arc solution is carried out for a more extensive set of satellites for any arc tracked simultaneously by two or more of the CORE ILRS stations. This analysis is capable of identifying bias at the level of about 10mm, but it should be noted that any such deductions are subject to the quality of the station coordinates being used; as from 2001 April 4, coordinates are taken mainly from ITRF2000 and are not adjusted during these analyses. However, coordinate updates are computed when required; for example after significant motion following an earthquake (e.q. near Arequipa, Peru on June 23, 2001).
